Many Treatments Are Provided By A Reproductive Center.
If you have been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant, you may want to consider other options. Lots of folks use some form of infertility treatment or choose adoption as the way to help make their dream family happen. Deciding which methods to use in your attempt to conceive can be difficult, but a reproductive center will offer you a number of viable options to consider.
Many people are familiar with the concept of IVF or In Vitro Fertilization and babies born through this method were typically referred to as test tube babies during the programs earliest beginnings. However, IVF is routine now, but it's not the only treatment one can try at a reproductive center. Based on several factors, your doctor may recommend a different procedure.
In vitro fertilization is a multi-step process involving retrieval of a number of eggs which then become fertilized outside of the woman's womb. Once the eggs are fertilized they are known as embryos. One or more of these are transferred into the mothers womb. Then it is hoped that the embryo will implant itself into the womb and continue to grow to full term.
There are other factors involved in an IVF cycle and other treatment options are often used in conjunction with this type of infertility treatment plan. Assisted hatching, or AH, is another procedure where an acidic solution is applied to the six to eight celled embryo shortly before it is transferred back to the woman’s womb. This is one method of increasing implantation by exposing the egg to an acidic solution in order to thin the zona (wall of the egg). Once the procedure has been performed, the embryo is rinsed to remove any residual solution, and then placed back in the incubator prior to the embryo transfer.
No two woman are the same and as such, each infertility situation will never be alike. A doctor needs to conduct a thorough exam and evaluation to assess your own needs. It is impossible to not compare your progress with other infertility patients, which can make the process frustrating.
Today, IVF is much more common and has much higher success rates. Do research and look things up on your own and make sure to ask questions. You need to choose a trustworthy doctor who will be helpful in any emotionally difficult situation.
