Magic Crisp Microwave Tray
The Magic Crisp Discovery
This Magic Crisp Microwave Tray is answered prayer! I couldn't sleep last week, so was watching TV at all hours of the morning and caught the infomercial. This is really new, so I don't think many people out there have a clue what it is. When I saw the demo, I was so excited that I almost woke up the little lady, but that would have been a grievous mistake. So I clued her in the next morning and we ordered the tray.
Conventional Microwave Cooking
Today, cooking seems to center around the microwave. I don't know if it's a matter of convenience, or time management or we're all just plain lazy. Whatever the reason, microwave cooking is where it's at. Unfortunately, with a microwave, not everything turns out like we'd like it to. Mostly, it's hot, but soggy or limp. That's where this Magic Crisp Microwave Tray is the answer!
The Magic Crisp Difference
The first thing we tried it on was leftover pizza. You know that when you reheat pizza in a microwave, it normally comes out as limp as a dishrag. Not with the Magic Crisp! Even though we saw it work the commercial, using it made a believer out of us! The pizza came out probably with a crispier crust than when it was first served! We used it on rolls for lunch the next day, and they came out great; crispy on the outside and warm in the middle.
I guess it's the design of the tray that makes it work. It's a round tray with ridges radiating out from the center. It reminds me of looking at a daisy. They say that the ridges allow the air to circulate under the food item and lets it cook or crisp faster. The pizza was great and the rolls weren't rock hard, that's for sure!
Magic Crisp Microwaving
So now, we've used the Magic Crisp Microwave Tray on just about everything we had tried to use the microwave on previously but got a soggy, limp result. Bacon is a breeze...perfectly crispy every time. We've used it for chicken fingers and onion rings with the same result...perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Reheating leftovers of any type produces great food; crispy on the outside and moist in the middle, just like it's supposed to be.
Cleanup is easy, too! I don't know what the tray is made of, but the food just seems to fall off of it when it's rinsed off. We did the "buy one get one free" deal, so we always have one ready to go. For about $24 for both (including shipping) I think the Magic Crisp Microwave Tray is a winner in terms of the texture of the food produced using the convenience of microwave cooking.
