Atco Balmoral Petrol Cylinder Mowers
A mower from the Atco Balmoral range is probably the best choice of petrol cylinder lawnmower from those available in the market today. Those seeking the best finish will find that these lawnmowers are probably some of the best you can buy.
The range consists of three sizes - 14”, 17” and 20”. All three models share essentially similar specifications.
A powerful 3hp 4-stroke Kawasaki with recoil starter features on all three models in the range. The three-way drive arrangement allows the blades to be disengaged without stopping the engine, convenient for emptying the grassbox and for powered manoeuvres around the garden. Also, it's useful to be able to disengage the rear roller for hand-manoeuvring around trees etc. A centrifugal clutch is fitted to protect the system.
The standard cylinder has 6 blades which give a great finish. Those who crave absolute perfection can opt for the ten-blade cutting cylinder instead for a flawless finish. Atco mowers clever QX system allows you to change the blade cylinder for a scarifier module which instantly gives you a powered lawn rake. The cutting height can be adjusted from 6 to 36 mm.
A spring-tine comb lifts the grass prior to cutting to improve the performance, while the stainless steel front roller and heavy steel rear roller ensure a classic striped finish. The 17” and 20” models have a split rear roller with a differential drive. This aids manoeuvrability and minimises damage to the lawn when cornering – great attention to detail.
If your grass has got a bit long, you can fit the side wheels (supplied) to lift up the mower to make the job easier.
Weight is reduced by the use of high-impact poypropylene for the large grass boxes.
As you would expect, there is a great warranty on the Atco Balmoral range, of 3 years for parts and 2 years for engine and labour.
