Crawler Cranes for Environmental Friendly Lifting
There was a time when cranes or any form of lifting gear was associated with generally three kinds of environmental pollution- visual, noise and emissions. But things have taken a new direction. Modern day crawler cranes as provided by City Lifting, sidestep all of them.
A crawler crane is an unmanned vehicle, which can run on electricity as well as diesel. Because the crawler can run in full electric mode, it can be used in environments where noise or fume pollution controls and laws are in effect. Most commonly, this environment would be some kind of internal restoration job. Where a construction unit is working indoors, there are very strict regulations governing the amount and intensity of fumes that may be vented by operational equipment. Crawler cranes are the ideal solution here. Noise pollution laws here will apply both to the health and safety of workers (and any building users or occupants) and to the actual structural integrity of the building. A crawler crane, when it is being used in electric mode, makes no noise at all: which means, again, that it allows construction companies to sidestep all the red tape that would otherwise be involved. Crawler cranes are ideal for operating in interior environments where lifting is required for these two reasons.
The third reason that a crawler crane is such a versatile and useful piece of lifting gear is tied in with the third kind of pollution we mentioned at the start. Visually a crawler crane may as well not be there. You can't see it on the horizon because it is very small. A crawler crane is small enough to fit easily into buildings, which means it can be used on building jobs from the inside. That means no sight obstructions to an environment or the general public.
Crawler cranes are ideal for using in enclosed spaces where a normal crane would not fit. They are also perfect for one off lifting jobs in particularly difficult access areas – like the inside of a tank, for example. That is because a crawler crane, in addition to being silent and small, is also radio controlled. Operators can accomplish lifts in places a person simply could not get into – by sending their crawler crane in and doing the lift remotely from outside. Crawler cranes are the ideal piece of kit for one off, specialty or difficult lifts.
